I'm still around. Just uploaded two new works to DA I've done over the last few months but just never got around to uploading. So go look and enjoy.  I'm thinking about getting my premium membership back and getting back involved into the community.

I also have at least one other truly original piece I'm going to upload in the next few days so keep an eye open for that. From what I can, DA hasn't seen anything like it in terms of photomanipulation and subject material. Yet its still equine related! hehehe, have fun pondering that.

I'm getting quite flippen sick of the hypocrisy that runs wild like a herd of rapid lemmings on DA. People CANNOT make up their minds, literally. I've about given up on trying to understand things or get a handle of basic etiquette on this site because the bottom line ends up being that you WILL piss someone off eventually no matter how nice and considerate you intend or try to be.

You can seriously think you have best manners with the best intentions and someone will rain a shit storm on your parade at some point. Its just nuts...

Like some people want to chew your head up if you fav a piece of art without making a comment, some people dont want you to comment whatsoever, some people dont want you to fav period, some dont want comments unless you fav....Its extremely confusing and ass backwards when at the end of the day, someone took some time out of their to see your work and appreciate it no matter what course of action they choose to show this. If that is not your intention by posting your art on a public site like DA, than why post anything?!?! Do we not post our work for people to see it and hopefully find as much joy in it as we did in making it?

And now to confuse the masses even more, some people get pissed off when no one responds to their comments or favs or if you do take the time to reply to comments favs some people get pissed off if you thank them! SERIOUSLY?!?!? How can we win?!

When my artwork got maybe 5-20 favs per piece, yes I took the time to personally thank each person, find something nice in their gallery and leave a personal comment, but now when I have works getting 100+ favs and a message box that quickly fills up to 1000+ notifications if I let it go for a few days I dont have the time to personally go through every last person's gallery and leave some sort of personal commentary as much as I'd like to, it would be a full time job in of itself. So I just leave a quick thank you unless something catches my eye right away. Hang me up and call me soul killing scum if that make me a bad person. At least I still try to take notice and interest in the people that take the time to notice my art.

Seriously, I am! For almost the last 3 weeks or so I've been working on a project thats going to be a contest entry. I lost it completely at one point so I had to start from scratch.  I spent a good amount of time this last week on it and now its finally getting there.  I just have a lot of fine detail work to paint in now, a limb or two to attach, manes and tails to paint, and overall lighting to adjust.  The basics are all blocked in at least. I need to have this done before the end of the month so you will see it before than!

Afterwards, I have a few other projects I want to work on. busy busy busy!

Oh OH OH! I saw Disturbed last saturday! With Avenge Sevenfold! EFFIN AWESOME! I am sooooo sore now though but it was totally worth it.

So I decided to try my hand at my first contest on DA and enter contest for orignal equine work. I always like to challenge myself with something new and orignal so this seemed right up my alley.

Only thing is, the idea I had basically requires me to pattern an entire wing by hand. >.<
I was working on it a lot last night and while its starting to look really cool, it is hella time consuming....I'm hoping to have it close to finished by this weekend.  But than again I figure its best to really push myself on something if I want to win, even if I have to keep making tiny selection after tiny selection.   No, I'm not sharing my idea btw.

Also, wanted to give a little tribute to a racehorse by the name of Tuscan Evening. She was a 5 year old turf mare and a rising star who just pulled of 6 graded stakes wins in a row and who was having a monster career year. I saw her run in her last race in July, the Modesty Handicap which was a prep race for the $750k Beverly D on Aug. 21. This weekend, Tuscan Evening literally dropped dead on the track after a routine 6 furlong workout, no indication given ever that there was a problem. They're doing an autopsy to figure out what coudl've caused this. I was excited to follow her career and to see what she would do in the Beverly D.   I was very upset by this news.

From one animal lover to another, WHY?!?!?!!?

Do you know about all the animals they kill?
Do you know about their stand AGAINST 'no-kill shelters'?
Do you know about their stand AGAINST trap-spay/nueter-release programs for feral cats?
Do you know about their stand AGAINST the pit bull breed?
Do you know about their stand AGAINST pet ownership?
Do you know about their stand AGAINST ethical breeding?
Do you know about their stand AGAINST crate training?
Do you know about their stand AGAINST wildlife reintroduction programs?

Do you know that Ingrid Newkirk used to run one of the largest kill shelters(aka slaughterhouses) in the country?

Even now, Peta's "shelter" is a slaughterhouse that kills nearly every animal that comes through their doors. They spent more money on a giant freezer to store the carcasses in than on efforts to adopt the animals.

The more I learn about this organization the more disgusted and outraged I get. I just dont understand how anyone can support them. Please, support animal welfare, be a vegatarian if you wish, love your pets and care for the animals of the world; just dont support a murderous organization thats more concerned about media attention and making money than the animals they claim to "save".
